Zenith Bank Plc is one of the biggest and most profitable banks in Nigeria  and is based in Victoria Island, Lagos. The bank was established in May 1990 and started operations in July same year as a commercial bank.
It became a public limited company on June 17, 2004The bank presently has a shareholder base of over one million, an indication of the strength of the Zenith brand.

As of November 2007, it is the largest company in the country and in all of West Africa, with total assets of 21billion dollar according to the banks advertisement in CNN. In addition to Nigeria, the bank has branches in the Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and the United Kingdom
